Homes for Ukraine Sponsorship scheme still open for new applications
We have got a visa under the Homes for Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme for our client from Ukraine. The UK Home Office issued a positive decision on May 2.
The girlfriend of our client Igor came to Britain last year 2022 on a Sponsorship Visa and still lives with her sponsors. The sponsors are UK citizens and British; they feel happy that this girl stays with them.
The Igor’s girlfriend asked her sponsors for permission to invite her friend Igor. The British citizen agreed and became sponsors for Igor. They also passed special checks: DBS check and compliance with the requirements of housing conditions for Sponsorship.
And recently Igor received a visa under the Ukrainian Sponsorship Scheme “Homes for Ukraine”. His girlfriend is very pleased. He hasn’t arrived in Britain yet, but he’s going to.
The Ukrainian Sponsorship Scheme is still working!
This is the only scheme that works now. But the requirements for sponsors have become tougher:
- Sponsors must be British or Irish citizens
- Have a permanent residence permit – the equivalent of Settled Status under the European Scheme, or ILR – Indefinite Leave to Remain.
If the sponsor has a Pre-Settled status, then it is not suitable.
We were happy to help.
We wish our clients an early adaptation in the country and implementation of their plans.
See the Igor’s Home Office Decision above.
