Case:Switching from a Skilled Worker Visa to an ILR

We received a review from our client Mikhail. He is a citizen of the Russian Federation and has been working in the UK on a Skilled Worker Visa for 5 years.
Mikhail had a request to extend his stay in the country. And since he has been legally living and working in the UK for 5 years, he has the opportunity to receive an ILR.
ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) is a permanent residence or settlement in the UK, that is, an indefinite residence permit. If you have an ILR, you are not subject to any time restrictions.
Requirements for obtaining an ILR or Settlement in the UK:
- Take the test “Life in the UK”, which is passed by all applicants for permanent residence and citizenship
- Do not spend too much time outside the UK
- Prove your knowledge of English
If you wish to remain in the country as a spouse, civil partner or unmarried partner, you must have resided in England for 5-10 years (depend of your circumstances) as a partner of a British citizen, an individual with permanent residence or other suitable sponsor.
If you need an ILR for the entry or stay of an adult relative or a dependent child, you must provide proof that you can live comfortably and receive the necessary care without using public funds. It is not necessary to take the “Life in the UK” test, as well as knowledge of English is not required.
For Mikhail, we were able to complete the ILR registration very fast. It took us up to 10 days right before the New Year. Immediately after the holidays, he received an ILR. And now we are preparing documents for his family member accession to his status.
In the images you can see screenshots of Mikhail’s review and a successful Home Office solution.
Such solutions comes to our email directly from the Home Office, because when we apply for a visa, we specify all our data: e-mail for requesting additional documents, my certificate number, etc.
