Visa Processing Pitfalls
Applying for a visa can be a stressful and time-consuming process but with the right preparation and guidance you can increase your chances of obtaining a visa.
Why do I need a consultation?
During the consultation, we find out all the points:
- Why does a person need a visa?
- What is the purpose of the visit: study, work, travel, business, immigration, etc?
- What is the period a person going to stay in the UK long-term or short-term?
- Coming alone or with family
- Does he want to send the children first or come himself?
We sign an agreement with our client as soon as all details are clarified and a certain type of visa is selected during the consultation. The client makes the payment and we start collecting the documents.
The documents must meet the requirements of the Home Office. Each visa has its specific requirements. The Home Office periodically changes visa requirements for all types of visas. For example:
- The Global Talent visa has the main requirement which is recommendations. We need to work very carefully on them.
- In the case of a business visa, the main requirement is a business plan. It must be carefully developed.
- If people come to the UK for English studying they need short-term student visas up to 11 months. The Home Office requires writing a Statement where a person explains why he/she wants to come to the UK to study the language in addition to all the documents. In the case of a university, people should first be accepted for study and then receive an invitation.
Filling out the application
When answering each question, you need to be careful. There are a lot of veiled and tricky questions. Therefore, you need to fill out the application correctly. One mistake, one wrong check mark and the visa application form will be filled out incorrectly.
You need to be able to upload visa documents correctly and choose the right type of service for submitting documents. British visas are served through TLC centers, when you go to their website; they have Self-service and Supported services. The TLC-site in every way directs to paid services like any commercial organization, when our company already knows:
- How to bypass these paid services and order a standard service
- How to upload documents correctly
- How many days are available or not
- How can you keep your passport
- How can you warn the TLC-centers if you want to upload some additional documents
- How to make the TLC-centers give you some more time 24 or 48 hours before they send the documents to the Home office for decision-making
Obtaining a visa
There are cases of refusal, even in standard visas. Many people get upset, give up, and get lost. They do not know what to do and what to do next. In such cases, we also give recommendations.
When a person has a refusal, he has the right to appeal. If there is an opportunity for an administrative review of the case, we apply for it. Another way we are preparing for an appeal is based on the reasons they refused. There are refusals on Family Spousal visas, so we have to appeal, and often everything goes well.
If a person receives a visa, we recommend how fast you need to arrive, because when the visa is given the timing is important.
- For long–term visas, like Global Talent and Skill Worker, Business visas.
Firstly, a person receives a trans-clearance stamp. It is such a paper for three months of entry.
- After that, a person enters the UK. Then he must receive a BRP card. It is a Biometric Residence Permit Card which is received at the post office at the address of residence, or at the company’s registration address.
- The BRP card is stored in the post office for a certain number of days. If a person does not receive it on time, then it will be sent back to the Home office. Then it will be needed to search and request this card again. It is given three months to receive a BRP card, which is indicated on the sticker on the passport (entry clearance visa).
The BRP card can be stored in the post office for 60 or 90 days. After that, they are sent back. In some cases, for some visas, post offices hold them maximum of 30 days. They do not have the right to keep them for more than 30 days, so they are sent back to the Home office.
When a person receives a visa, we give instructions on where and how to pick up this BRP card and get the visa itself.
